just a little heads-up: today in their 2nd status report the LHC@Home project announces it will not continue until early 2005.
If E@H is able to start the first of January or very early in 2005, this might give an advantage to E@H in attracting users.

Specially if E@H continues sending out units, which by the way, in spite of being in an initial test phase, are working fine and without problems. Keep my fingers crossed!
Keep up the good work! And let's have Jan 2nd, an initial beta phase for many new testers whom are eagerly waiting to suscribe to the project.
Patience is a virtue

yes liberto true what you say
but will be nice if one of the project leaders give us a news update about
many things like
time scale,credits from alpha move to,the way to publik if one user find a grav.wave ...

We are still very busy
)
We are still very busy getting the client and server software to work properly and with enough performance to handle a reasonable amount of users, which, despite of how it looks from the outside, hadn't been fully achieved yet. We are still heading at the beginning of the Einstein year 2005 for going public, but some problems aren't solved yet - we are working hard, but we may miss the 1.1.2005. Currently we don't think about alpha credits etc. There may come up some issues in the next days that may limit our possibilities and would force us to take back some promises...
Impossible things will be done immediately, miracles may take a little longer...

My experience from other projects is that Murphy's law really does exist - and that you shouldn't get surpriced if things looks to run smooth and then all of a sudden all h*ll brakes lose ;) So my advise would be not to rush things ;)
Thanks, we won't. However,

Thanks, we won't. However, things do not run very smoothly behind the scenes (any donations for coffe etc.?)

No! Just so long as things are running smoothly at our end we don't care what agonies you have to go through to make it happen. :-)
Try to get a good night's sleep tomorrow. You'll want to be up bright and early on Saturday just in case santa has brought you a new server for xmas.
Cheers,

Hopefully, santa didn't order it at dell, after the experiences of the Predictor@Home-Team ...
Supporting BOINC, a great concept !
Between Dell and the funding
)
Between Dell and the funding problems, is it any wonder that they've been offline for a couple of months? Now if only they had ordered a TRS-80 server... Oops, I'm showing my age.
Cheers,

That's just it - most of us don't see or even know how much work is being done behind the scenes. Right now things looks to run smooth at my end, but I have no clue how many thin threads the project is hanging in at your end. (be carefull not to get too stressed out - take good care of yourselves)
