einstein validators have status Not running
about 10.000 results waiting to be validated
i hope this pause would be short
Yep, we all hope that. I'm also noticing my pendings going up already, although they were always huge since the beginning of S5R2 (I keep getting the biggest WUs and many of my wingmen have long turnaround times and/or stability issues). Let's hope the validator will get back online quickly or it might take days to get through the backlog.
And of course this had to happen on the weekend. My sympathy is very much with the project staff. Seems they are getting all the bad luck atm...

Most of the time, validator backlogs clear out pretty quickly. Also this number of results pending validation pales in comparison to what I've seen at SETI from time to time.

Just checked again and the validator is running now :-).
Anyway a stopped validator isn't half as serious as the glitch at Seti@Home where they couldn't produce work for several days.

I literally watched my results validate... My 11-day wingman actually turned their result in already. Took them about 5 days this time. I've got 1 more outlier. That person took 8 days before...
Does anyone know what happened to SETI today. About 5 hours ago it went offline -- the databases are all offline and with the structure of SETI that means their message boards are offline as well.
There is no notice on the web page -- the last note on the web page is that they had 'fixed' the problems they had on Thursday.
Ever since their servers went offline nearly four weeks ago SETI has been rather problematic at best and really troublesome most of the time. But the offline status now, with no notice or web page flash note before the long weekend is even more discouraging.

The database and project have been down for a few hours. We're working on the slow feeder problem that was causing work distribution to go slowly.

Sounds encouraging. I never paid so close attention to this over at SETI, so, thanks for info.

Might be nice for them to consider posting an update to their site (which is up) when they have unplanned outages.
