Please consider adding a little more time to the deadline for S5R2, at least while we are in the testing and optimization phase. I know speed selectivity is coming but that's not the issue right now.

I was looking over the user stats on a couple of third party sites and they are really distressing. It sure looks like a lot of folks are pulling up stakes for the time being, and I have to assume a lot them are the newer 'big gun' battleships which have taken the biggest pounding on the rates at this point.

OTOH, I have no intention of moving any of my hosts off the project, and will most likely be bringing more resource share for my faster ones back here in the near future (I am a CW up to a point).

I don't even mind running the Mega second monsters on my old timers (they're tough and can take the punishment from the 'enemy') but could use a little extra manuevering room to assure victory. :-)

Regards,

Alinator

I'll never leave Einstein!

Once a guy said another BOINC project was the best and I gave him a fat lip!

Yep, I want the host that finds that first gravity wave to be mine! :-)

And knowing Murphy, it'll happen during a Beta run. ;-)

LOL...

I look at it like the Lottery. Your odds at best are infintessimal, but if you don't participate, they're zero. ;-)

He's someone over in the SETI forums... He'll likely tell you something to the effect that your odds are still the same even if you play more...something about it just increasing the number of events and not altering the raw "odds"...

At any rate, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Okay, he's probably right

Okay, he's probably right about that, but lets not be so fussy ;-) our chances (lets use that expression ^^) are certainly higher if we donate more crunching time. Okay, it'll probably be Bruce Allen himself who finds the first gravity wave if you go by that ^^ on one of his million dual core Opterons... But we might still have an outsider's chance.

ARRRRGH!!!!!! Looks like

ARRRRGH!!!!!!

Looks like my 'big gun' battleships are coming back to EAH sooner than I thought! ;-)

SAH has had a major meltdown of the big Sun server they use for their Master Science Database. This means until they get it fixed they are dead in the water from a work generation viewpoint, and I was only running a 1 day cache when it happened! :-(

There goes my first place ranking in my Start Date Class.
