Well, this particular one doesn't. My XP 1600+ system (before it caught on fire) would run rings around it...IT definitely had, and used, the SSE instructions! I've always been disappointed in that particular chip. It's due to be replaced with an XP 2200+ ($46) this coming week. Just about the max that MB will take.
FWIW my Core2 Duo iMac’s E@h production has remained more or less constant at ~23 CS/CPUh for the past few weeks, straddling the transition; if anything its RAC has increased a little recently, but that’s probably because SiMaP only has work for the first week or two of each month. The tasks it’s been running are all worth ~323 credits each, if that makes any difference. Its E@h and SETI@home RACs were running neck-and-neck before I installed an optimized S@h app, more or less doubling the latter.
This project has become a poor use of my resources. My computers are spending too much time doing debugging work on the new work units, if I want to do beta testing I'll sign up for it.
Well, ya' know, this is a volunteer effort. If the computer time that I volunteer can help debug the app, that's fine with me.
I don't have a problem in debugging an app, but I'm not going to use 8 computer doing it, if an app is beta call it beta. Einstein screwed up on this one and rush the app, it isn't ready for prime time. There's a number of beta and alpha projects out there and they tell you up front the app is in testing, they failed to be up front with us here at Einstein.

With my 2 Barton 3200+ - Millenium - application 4.13
3 wus -> ~ 1 day 1 min/wu
It doesn't to have a big gap between my X2 and my XP's.
Barton has 512k 2nd level cache, might make a difference.
Thoroughbred B (Windows) are not very efficient with Hierarchical
WUs, whereas Linux seems not to be affected so much (credits-wise).
The X2 4600+ has 512KB L2 cache /core and its frequency is 2400Mhz (2200Mhz for a Barton 3200+).
With the 4.17, seems that my X2 4600+ will be fast as with the 4.13. (~ 20 hrs/wu).
About my Bartons 3200+, they are still crunching with the 4.13, so wait and see.

Are the results of Windows 4.13 and Linux 4.14 inkompatible? I found the following two:
