I upgraded last week to 5.8.11 version and everything has been working like its supposed to. This morning I had to reset my cable modem, router, and reboot all my computers. 1 of my boxes the icon is fine but the other 2 boxes have a bullseye target on the tray icon. I've looked at all my settings on the boxes and everything is as its supposed to be. Both boxes are crunching away.
What do I have to do to get the icons back in normal mode?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need Help. Bullseye on Boinc Tray Icon
)
A bullseye? You sure it isn't a small red X? As that would mean the Boinc Manager has no connection with the Boinc Client. Exiting the Boinc Manager and restarting it will fix that.
The other optional icon is one showing two small bars. This means that Boinc is paused/suspended.

A white circle with a smaller red circle inside it. I saw it on one of my puters too, but it didn't seem to do anything and with all the changes I make, I sort of ignored it.

It's a white circle with a small red x in it. :)
If you hover over your Boinc icon at that time the balloon will also tell you what it means.

I hovered over the icon but I didn't get any ballons. I did do as you suggested and the small red x is now gone on both computers.
Thanks for the help. Its appreciated.

I used to get a balloon that would state what project was running and what percent was done but that was several boinc upgrades ago. Now all I every get is a balloon that says 'Boinc Manager'. I don't know what was changed but I miss being able to get the status in the balloon. It is much easier than having to open the manager every time to see what it is doing.

)
Steve, there's a pause of about 10-30 seconds before the balloon shows. It takes a while, is all.
There's also a pause between the showing of the balloons. If I remember correctly from checking the code, it's 60 seconds.
RE: Steve, there's a pause
)
It only takes one second for the ballon to show on mine, but like I said it no longer gives any info, it just shows 'BOINC Manager' in the balloon. And I'm not new to this, been using Boinc since it was in beta the summer of '04 and classic user for three years before that. Not new to computers either. Started out in '75 - '78 then took a different course in life for a while before coming back to computer work in '84 to the present day. Presently I work as a computer consultant.
At least the balloon for Process Explorer tells me what project is running under boinc so don't need to open the manager unless I want to check what percentage of work has been done.

There's two things showing.
)
There's two things showing. One is a tool tip in a square box, which says Boinc Manager.
The other is a bigger balloon with the status. This one takes a while to show though. And it takes forever if that tool tip stays there.

Doesn't matter how long I leave my cursor there, just tried waiting for over 2 minutes and still no status balloon. Would be nice if it still worked but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Thanks anyhow.

LOL
That happened to me a couple of times while trying to explain the behaviour in this thread and then when I move my mouse 2 pixels up, all of a sudden I get the balloon. The annoying bit of it is usually when I try to reach the icon next to it, up pops this stupid balloon that I have to click on to get rid of as it overlaps what I was trying to read on the other icon's balloon or tool tip. ;-)
