I've just noticed that several of my boxes have now been successful in reporting their previously uploaded results. This has just happened in the natural course of events with no intervention from me. In one case, a box reported 78 results and was told that 11 of them had previously been reported. This aspect of the current server problems seems to be now sorting itself out quite nicely. Most of those reported are now shown as "pending" whilst a few have actually been validated. So far there are no signs of errors.

Unfortunately, whilst reporting is succeeding (at least for some boxes) there isn't as yet any sign of new work. Those requests are still being refused. However this does represent significant progress and hopefully new work isn't too far away.

Please be patient and allow BOINC to handle things gracefully. Manual intervention should only be used if you have a machine in the extended 1 week deferral condition. A single manual update will break out of this.

UPDATE: New data files and new executables started going out about 30 mins after I wrote the above. Now, another two hours later, I'm finally able to get back to this page to add the update. I guess things will be difficult for quite a while yet :).

Cheers,
Gary.

since 09:30 UTC I'm getting WUs from the next type.
It's S5RI, with a new application file (same code but S5RI naming).
The WU's are coming slowly but my cache is filling up!

Bernd's post on S5RI

- We have started distributing Work of a run called S5RI this morning
- Lasting longer than the short Workunits of S5R1 this will lower the load on our database server, so things should go back to a more or less normal state from now (and already are...)

Well from where I'm sitting

Well from where I'm sitting the servers still seem a little sluggish, but are working as advertised.

A major improvement, which hopefully will last and improve as the hosts all get caught up reporting. ;-)

Maybe we'll even get to see the server status again in a day or two. :-)

The biggest hurdle now is getting the new app and pdb files to everyone. That will put a large load on the system for a while.

I took a quick look at one,

I took a quick look at one, and it mostly seems to be reporting of checkpoints every minute.

Could be some other debug info in there, but I really didn't give it a line by line examination.
