i remember einstein running at 80Tflops a while ago
why is it only running at 46Tflops now. i thought time would make it go faster and faster at tech advancers not slower. iam confuced someone please fill me in.

why has einstein@home speed loss

Could be due to the server problems.
1. there was no up/down loads
2. people wil probably switched to a backup project and still have work unfinished there.
3. Some computers may still be in the one day (86,400 sec) backoff.

This is only partial

This is only partial speculation. But, I noticed benchmarks on the new Alpha BOINC 5.8 were slightly slower. Maybe other users are loading the new version, which may possibly be slowing the WU times down, causing a drop in TFLOPS.

NOTE: The drop in benchmark times, could be only due to a different benchmark system, and could not affect all CPU's.

the 'floating point speed' is not measured by adding all the benchmark values, but is calculated by the 'sum of the Recent Average Credit (RAC) for all users'.

During the several downtimes of the project you can't deliver any results so your RAC decreases. This leads to a decreasing floating point speed.

I am looking at the 'WUs finished per day' which can be found if you follow the link to the graphical display... (at the '2-week intervall' page) and this value is better than ever (due to the fact that there are nearly only short WUs left).
