i've just noticed that with my Rage 128 Pro video card screen saver eats 50% of my CPU power.
Is there a way to make screen saver use less CPU with old video-cards ? Maybe do not run screen saver in software mode at all ? Or at least make people aware that "screen saver will consume lots of CPU with your current video-card so it is better if you turn screen saver off" It could be done with a simple check in screen saver for running in software mode and showing a warning message

There is a setting in general options in your account page to limit screensaver graphics to x%. The default is 50%. If you set it lower, the screensaver will not get as much time, but it will be a bit jerky.

Yeah but the problem is most people do not even notice their PCs are wasting time on screen saver, since most of them take a look at screen saver anyway it would be good to have a warning in screen saver :)
Honestly, do you tink it

Honestly, do you tink it would be a good idea to have a screensaver that throws warnings (usually ending up as static modal windows)? I think that the majority of people would rather get annoyed or confused by this.
