I am trying to form a team with friends and everyone is afraid to let someone have access to their computer. What should I tell them. I use a mac so am not concerned about this issue...

Tell them it's quite secure and not to worry. With the design and implementation of BOINC as used for recognised projects like E@H, it is safer and better monitored than most of the sites they are probably visiting now. I know that the E@H staff are ruthless in quality control and error management - and this includes not just the value of the science output, but also with host security. It is in the interest of the project to be so....
Tell your friends to join up, contribute and enjoy!
Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

I'll ditto that for the

I'll ditto that for the people who do the BOINC software.

I've been reading their email lists and they are highly concerned with security and safety.

You can also look on the general BOINC forums for information.
