I just got a E6400 Core2 processor, and was running @home on it and I discovered that if I set each task to a set cpu core it will run better. Could the program be optimised for dual core, maybe like run 1 task per core, or use both cores to make 1 task go faster?

You can only run a WU on one core (ie it can't be split up between the two cores).

I think there was a discussion a while back on CPU affinity and what projects run nicely together.

FWIW, I run 2 CPDN units on a Pent. D and I didn't see much difference between running two of those with one CPDN and one of something else. But that might be unique to CPDN.
