The Forth Thread!

I finally got an avatar to upload and look something like it did on my computer! Even at that, the colors are a little off, but acceptable.

How do you get it to not change all the colors around? What are the rules?

Thanks,
Gene

Edit -- The original stripes on the turtle's face were yellow, not a light green as they show here. I had another one that was part of some Hubble photo, and everything got totally washed out. I also see some other peoples' avatars that look washed out, so it's not just me.

Now it's the fifth!

Ditto, I've "Resized" a pic

Ditto, I've "Resized" a pic to 100X100 Pixels, but can't seem to get it down to under 4K. I've changed the .JPG to .PNG. My pic always come out wrong. Tim saw my Avatar looked bad, and then Bingo, "I've got Avatar" as the Email flag starts waving. Here was the same pic all cleaned up.

How's that CA, Timmy, or I'm starting a new one "mr wizard".

Tim fixed my avatar too. But he doesn't speak Mac, and I don't speak Windows, so I don't know how he did it exactly. I had the right size and the right file size. I didn't try .PNG. Maybe that's what worked, I don't know.

My SETI avatar worked with no problem. Wouldn't work here. Colors messed up bad.

Theoretically you should get

Theoretically you should get better quality images now since the software is now GD2 aware (instead of always using the old GD1 image library).
Of course this depends on whether the project has updated their website software recently.
