Small work units??

Wow I just noticed that the WUs have gotten quite small. What used to take 25k seconds now takes 29 min./ cpu to complete, with 5 of them waiting to report.
This may help the pending credit issue a little.

Have a look at this post.

There are short workunits and long workunits, with a ratio of ~10:1 between the crunching times.

It's completely random which one you get, except that:

a) the slowest 10% of computers won't get saddled with the long ones.
b) whatever variety of WU you've got at the moment, you tend to continue with for a long time - the work is taken from one big datafile which only has to be downloaded once.
