Bernd:
I think you all may have gone too far in the decrease in credits for two of my computers. My MacBookPro 2.16GHz is taking ~157 cpusec/credit on Einstein and ~ 120 cpusec/credit on SETI; both on the large size WU. My PowerBook G4 1.67GHz is taking ~407 cpusec/credit on Einstein (small WU), and ~ 273 cpusec on SETI (average)

Decrease in Credit seems to have gone too far.

The adjustments have been made mainly because of the new App for the most popular MS-Windows platform. You can read my comments on that, with a paricular eye on the Macs, e.g. in this thread. Bruce may also want to comment on this, but he's on the road currently.
For now I'd propose to try the new Mac Apps I just got out of the door (4.26 for G4 and 4.28 for Intel). You can read about them in the sticky threads of the Cruncher's corner.

I do think the ratio is correct, and the given credits are fair.
I agree, it's vexing to get 120 credits when you were used to get 176...
but fair is fair.

For the anecdot... I was SO furious with the credits' decrease... that I bought a new computer just to keep my recent average credit on same level.
