I just noticed that I have no "large" WU's in my cache whatsoever. What did I do to deserve this, or is everyone else the same?

Will I get large WU's when I grow up?

No large WU's?

I always get small ones as well atm. At first, I thought it might have to do with my CPU being not exactly one of the fastest out there... but now I'm quite sure it depends on the data file you've downloaded. You know, one data file is good for lots of WUs, and if your's only contains small WUs that's all you'll get until you download the next data file. I'm not 100% sure this is correct but it seems logical to me.

I have some computers get all

I have some computers get all small units while others get all big. Some computers get small and big.

I think it's just luck of the draw.

Yeah, but that could well be

Yeah, but that could well be due to the data file you download, couldn't it?

...Yes, but the data you get

...Yes, but the data you get (small workunit data or big workunit data) is luck of the draw...

Yes, that is of course right

Yes, that is of course right ;-) although it probably depends on personal taste which one you consider to be "good" or "bad" luck...
Personally, I'm quite happy with the small WUs for my poor little laptop ;-)

I like all work units, as long as they keep coming! :)

To an extent, but it is intended to be biased according to the host’s performance. See the thread titled “Workunit size vs. processor:

The scheduler is designed to send out short WU to slow hosts, and long WU to fast hosts. The slow WU are sent to the hosts which are in the slowest 20%.

I also read that but I assume it is more based on return time that actual speed of computer. My P3, off for maintenance as a fan has gone very noisy, when I find time, seems to have done nothing but long units. So I guess a slow computer that is on 24/7 will be classed as faster than a fast computer only on for a few hours each day.
