I knew you were in living in South Korea :-) I didn't know you'd moved to home home! ;-) I thought you'd been away from the teaching job and just got back home - South Korea home, not home home.

Position Objective: To administer neuropsychological and achievement tests to children and/or adolescents; conduct in-school student observations and either in-home or office-based family interviews; score tests and prepare brief written reports; provide feedback and recommendations to families as appropriate and under supervision; enter data and assist in administrative tasks; and to support other staff members in recruitment and scheduling of participants. Data collected on children, families, and schools/teachers are comprehensive and include a wide array of interviews, questionnaires, observations, and test procedures. Assessments will take place on campus of Case Western Reserve University but will also involve home and school visits and extraction of information from medical charts. Establishing and maintaining rapport with children, families, and schools, and medical staff is crucial to the conduct of the study and to sample maintenance. Knowledge of computers and use of internet systems also useful. Adeptness and flexibility are required in scheduling assessments and observations, working with school staff and parents, testing, scoring, and family interviewing, provision of feedback and recommendations to parents and others working with child at parents’ request, and preparation of brief written reports. Maintaining rapport and supporting other research staff in their functions as needed is also required. REQUIREMENTS: At least 1 year of experience in administering psychological tests or relevant course work and experience to document appropriate background and interest in administrating tests to children and in conducting family interviews and in-school student observations. Some experience in previous research studies and in work with children with special educational needs and their families preferred. Minimum of undergraduate degree in psychology, education, or related field relevant. Essential/Technical Skills: 1. Ability to test children and interview families, including scoring of measures and preparation of written reports. 2. Good social and interpersonal skills, including ability to work well with children and families, as well as with research team and division staff. 3. Sensitivity to clinical issues and sound clinical judgment. 4. Well organized, efficient, and dependable. 5. Knowledgeable with regard to problems and needs of children with educational and behavioral handicaps and their families. 6. Knowledgeable regarding computer systems for managing scheduling.
