OK.So this one is not specifically for ev6 like the boinc version you offer ?
I'm not aware of any limitations of the BOINC client I compiled. The ev6 got put into the platform name by BOINC's configure, it probably will run on other CPU versions, too.

Any chance of an app. build with compaqs c compiler ?
I don't know if there is one available for Linux. I plan to set up another Alpha machine with OSF/True64, but don't ask me for a timescale.

There is a version of compaqs c and c++ compiler available for linux.
Take a look here (ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/C-CXX/linux).
It delivers superior performance over gcc compiled code especially if it comes down to FP operations (almost 3 times as fast due to the cpml lib).
It tells me "Message from server: platform 'mips-sgi-irix6.5' not found"....
But, at the end of my shell, I can read "Successfully attached to Einstein@Home"....
But, at the end of my shell, I can read "Successfully attached to Einstein@Home"....
The client is running and attached to Einstein@Home, though Einstein@Home has no "work" for this platform.
Stop the client and unpack the other IRIX archive einstein_S5R1_4.20_mips-sgi-IRIX6.5.tar.gz in the BOINC directory. When you start the Client again, it should report that it now runs as "anonymous platform", it should get some work from Einstein@Home and start to process it.

Thank you very much for the Alpha app. !

What compiler flags were used to build this app ?

Rather standard -O3. gcc on this machine is 3.3.5.

Hello,
I can't manage to run the client...
It tells me "Message from server: platform 'mips-sgi-irix6.5' not found"....
But, at the end of my shell, I can read "Successfully attached to Einstein@Home"....
Does anyone have an idea on that ?
Thanks

Yes. IRIX is not an "official" platform (official platforms are listed here).
The client is running and attached to Einstein@Home, though Einstein@Home has no "work" for this platform.

Well, it finally runs fine !
I found help on nekochan.net, the best Irix site.
The problem was the "24 hours waiting" to get work...
Thanks for your answers.
