My machine got paired on a WU with one of those recently, and I looked at all that crunching power just out of curiosity. More than 1400 computers hooked to E@A - nice, of course, but... about half of the hosts have very low credit, or no credit at all. WUs are being sent to them, and 2 weeks later (after the sad No Reply event) they are resent to other crunchers.
So thanks for the contribution, buddies, whoever you are but is there any sense in this kind of "help"?

This is due to their strange setup.

Thanks, Michael. I read the thread but it seems this old problem just goes on and on. Some of those hosts are useful, I know, but the others create a considerable lag in the project if I understand the situation correctly.

I've been paired with Riverside on many WUs because we share the same file. I agree that Riverside has been unresponsive, forcing me to wait on my credit for long periods of time. I just thought everyone was out on summer break and failed to suspend the project or at least monitor its status.

I also share the same file with Bruce Allen who wastes no time getting the Wus completed! I enjoy that.

Well I have the honour, too, to be paired with a Riverside campus PC, (after my first partner had an error, the next one timed out and now to top the cake Riverside..)is there anyway to tell these guys either to get their act together or forget it? No point getting WU downloads , if you cant process them.

Yes, it's frustrating to watch how pending WUs are piling up, and the estimated time for S5 is growing on ominously. Well, patience IS a virtue. :)

The email address has vanished from his profile - well, the whole profile has disappeared: is that a side-effect of the message board software changes we've seen over the last few days? - but I still had it from last time. I've mailed him, again.
