Under the 'Commands' menu:
- check 'Run always' and ...
- 'Network activity always available' then...
- click 'Retry communications' and then...

look at the 'Messages' panel to see what happens.
Copy & Post any messages here please.
Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Mike, I did all that you said

Mike, I did all that you said and Boinc promptly responded by uploading finished work and is in the process of downloading new work. I don't know how the commands all got changed. Just a few days ago I did see that the 'network activity suspended' was marked so I changed that but I guess it flipped back somehow. Thanks so much for your help.

That happened to me once, too. I also have no idea why either.... :-)
Cheers, Mike.

i had a simmilar problem for about a month (since 5.4.9 came out)

it has a different way of working out report(deadline) times and threw my system for six

still a bit cranky sometimes
it will run about 7 projects then report 3 results total say 23 hrs worth
then download 1 1hr w/u and suddenly its overcommited time again ???
or it will download /work overcommit+ eariest first for a few w/u then download more w/u and overcommit again (my longest w/u will never finish at that rate lol)
even though my longest w/u (29 hrs)isn`t due till end of NEXT month
