At present, the Einstein At Home application runs in PowerPC mode on these Intel-based Macs.

Will there be a version that runs in native (Intel) mode anytime soon?

Will there be an Einstein At Home screensaver for Mac Intel users anytime soon?

Yours truly.

You can try the beta app discussed hear.

Then you're really interested in a subject, there is no way to avoid it. You have to read the Manual.

If you experience this, you're probably using an outdated BOINC Core Client (version < 5.3) that reports the wrong platform. Download and install the latest BOINC Core Client (currently 5.4.9) from here, and maybe reset the project. This will download the albert_4.46 App for the platform i686-apple-darwin.

The 4.59 app that's currently in public Beta test and thus needs to be installed manually has been reported to be about 4 times as fast.

Both Apps run natively on Intel Macs and have working graphics, thus work with the BOINC screensaver that comes with the (standard GUI) Client.
