Go into /var/log/ Xorg.0.log

Message 28106 in response to message 28105

Go into /var/log/ Xorg.0.log and Xorg.8.log at the top of the file is a legend telling you what the various comment identifiers are, (EE) is error, (WW) means warning. then scroll down and find the GLX module and see what the message is on it.

Background: Xorg.0.log is for normal X11 start and Xorg.8.log is the error log but check both out.

Where is libnvidia-tls.so.1

Message 28107 in response to message 28106

Where is libnvidia-tls.so.1 located? Mine is in /usr/lib, if yours is in a nonstandard place then you have to include the path in ld.so.conf and run ldconfig. Beyond that I don't know.

Sorry that I couldn't help.

Actually, you may have. Mine is also in /usr/lib, but when I check the ld.so.conf, /usr/lib was not listed. I added it, and rebooted. We'll see after this workunit completes and it begins another.

Well, I guess that wasn't it after all. Oh well, thanks for trying though! At least the threads that do the real work seem to be running fine.

Mikie Tim T, there is one

Message 28110 in response to message 28109

Mikie Tim T, there is one other place to check and that is in /usr/doc/HOWTO, there is a HOWTO concerning NVIDIA-OpenGL-Configuration. It might help. If you don't have it on your system then you can get it at the Linux Documentation Project. The TLDP.

I will check out both places. Thanks for pointing me to documentation. It should help me with several areas of my Linux system.
