A quick update on the

A quick update on the situation for 4.55 on my boxes.
Since April, 9 I run Albert 4.55 and I have one invalid result (http://einsteinathome.org/task/24855024).
The problem with the graphics thread is still present and only affects my oldest box.

Bernard.

Of six tasks run here with Albert v4.55 all have validated.

Hello Guys ! I updated

Hello Guys !

I updated from albert v4.40 to albert 4.51 = 2 failed results.

Then from v4.51 to v4.55 with two valid results so far. The time to crunch one unit has dropped from 46,000 seconds to 26,600 seconds on my PIII 800 Mhz with 256MB RAM. Thank you.

2 machines tested, both with xserver 6.8.2-77

1) kernel 2.6.12-10-k7, athlon 64 2800+. 17 results returned successfully. 6 pending. 10 granted credit. 1 invalid (0 credit)

2) kernel 2.6.12-10-686, celeron 800. 2 results returned. 1 pending. 1 granted credit.

Times with beta app about 56% of the standard albert app.

Nice job.

Hello Intel 2.6 with 768

Hello

Intel 2.6 with 768 ram, running Gentoo and 2.6.15 kernel - all completed WUs, apart from ones aborted by me and pending, have been validated and credit awarded using 4.55.

"Show Graphics" works fine so far.

Slackware Linux 10.1 Kernel

Slackware Linux 10.1
Kernel 2.6.16.1
Athlon 1700+, 1.5 GB ram
ATI Radeon 7500 with XOrg 7.0 drivers

CPU time against the standard application has been halved! No client errors, the graphics work fine, although I usually don't run graphics anyway. All but one of the results are pending, the only one so far has been successfully validated. The funny thing is, my computer claimed 13 credits, one other claimed 62 and the granted credit was 43. I don't care much about credits, but the system is definetily broken.

Just tried it on my laptop,

Just tried it on my laptop, running kernel 2.4.27, and some older slackware version. There was a segmentation fault, though. I ran it through strace and it seems to hit right after the CPU detection, so the client never starts computing. I have the strace saved if it is of any help. For now I'll get this computer back to the old app.

My other computer keeps crunching results with 4.55, no problems, 6 results validated so far.
