Ok, couple of questions
1. how does this exe interact with boinc?
2. Does it affect the other projects I participate in through boinc?
3. What happens to the file's in the targeted directory, are they replaced by the optimised files or are the optimised files an addition to the directory?

Thanks

edit.
p.s
might be a good idea for akosf to add a readme text file to the zip.

Optimised Einstein exec

What you are doing is replacing one .exe file in the BOINC directory.

1.the same way the standard .exe file does.
2. No
3. You replays one .exe file. This way then the project sends out a new version, you will automatically be getting the new version of the standard application.

Then you're really interested in a subject, there is no way to avoid it. You have to read the Manual.

Before installing I added

Before installing I added .old to the filename of the official Einstein app so I could just delete the optimised app and delete the .old if there was any problem with it.

I think if you were to delete the .exe BOINC would be smart enough to just redownload the app albert app again.

such things just should not be writ so please destroy this if you wish to live 'tis better in ignorance to dwell than to go screaming into the abyss worse than hell

It would also abort WUs in your cache with reason of (writing from my lousy memory) not all necessary files being available. I managed to dump a couple of WUs when I unpacked AkosF's A36 and removed the .pdb (I don't intend to debug executables) ... BOINC re-downloaded the .pdb file and new WUs.

Oh, yeah, not to forget: Akos, thanks a lot for your marvelous binary! It helped me to reach the half a million milestone a day or two earlier.
