The reason you think you should receive 52 credits is probably because your client benchmarks are wrong. Einstein(as well as most other boinc projects I think) grant credit based on consensus. Since two other people had around 28 claimed credits, their consensus outweighs yours.

Also, does the credit *really* matter that much?

such things just should not be writ so please destroy this if you wish to live 'tis better in ignorance to dwell than to go screaming into the abyss worse than hell

The excessive time mostly is due to the Celeron 2.4 processor you have. Don't sweat it. One of my computers is a 2.4 Cel. also and it was getting bad times too. Go to Cruncher's Corner : New Optimised executables links forum and download C37.

Thanks Gentlmen,
I am not the keenest knife in the drawer. The O.C. c37 is "easist" installed on a Linux-Box,or,should I wait till my Linux Partner install it ,albeit Boinc is not
his Forte.True, Points are not all inportant. When I crunch for over 10 hours on any w/u,assides from P*,expect at least 35 ponts.Yes others scored the same ponts on that paticular w/u.{NOT-FAIR} whaaa,LOL
Tryed installing Harold Napsters O.C. last friday, after BURP and Extreme overwhelmed Boinc had first ever crash of Boinc! So I am shy of the O.C.,but,
want the credits I deserve.LOL{credits donnot matter}Hmmmmm

There are projects such as

There are projects such as Rosetta that do not require a quorum for results to be validated and credit granted based on the single claim, but Einstein does require the quorum, usually dropping the high and low vales of the three and using the middle value.

Sometimes you get more credit, sometimes less.

Then on this one you should only get 28.92 instead of 50.69?

It works out in the end. You got one you claimed 50, got 28, you got one you claimed 29, got 50.

It's the nature of this game. We are here, helping science. We get to brag about our good work. It's fun, and let's just go with the flow.

You may also want to read through this forum a litte, because there are some explainations about the difference between Windows and Unix crediting, etc.

Welcome aboard, and happy crunching!

I believe ALL of Akosf's apps are for Windows only. If you run Linux you need to use WINE for it.

If that is the case I appologize for not making that known. I didn't know that myself. From reading the forums, I was under the impression that the apps were only processor specific.

Thanks Randy,
I have applied wine from symnaptic a while back. But,just with wine {Windows}plus
an O.C. think I will shy away from O.C. Sorry I did not say I wa using Linux.
Thanks nevermost and thanks Randy c for the information.Think this is best left alone.Harold Napsters O.C. was for Linux, but something crashed Boinc, either Burp
Xtreme and O.C. all mixed together,LOL,The life of a Boincateer.

If I recall correctly, he took a look at the Linux executable but couldn't figure out what it did, so he gave up. I get the impression he's a Windows Only programmer. Not everyone is into Linux...I'm not!

Hello, Wanted to help whom

Hello,
Wanted to help whom may need it.Found out my floating speed was around 230 and integer was 12oo.After complete install, running with 500 less files, and
did not apply WINE!
All my credits jumped by "exactly" 25% eeehhhaaa, and for Linux getting less
than an ZP client or less.Nature of the Beast Also.Maybe because Linux is a better O.S.?{just kidding}I ran xp and was, well, unhappy.Could not understand
why I needed Viral Control, and spyware.Had it all.The Best "Payed" software
just to run Windows.I donnot beleive this is correct,so,learned Linux REAL QUICK
and Once Bill Gates pays his Anti trust suit, stops stealing,I will have a little
respect for Bloatware and the associated costs. For Now,Billy gets Nada.
