The current work that I am running has a completion time of 30:45:10!!! and the time is going up as it does the work!!! My first few work projects took around 8-15 hours to complete. Now, all of the sudden, it is supposed to take over a month?????? Is something wrong??

Althoug I'm far from being an expert or very experienced in Einstein work I DO know that Albert workunits vary dramatically in size and, therefore, completion time...

Anyone else care to expand on this??

(SIGH), Eric, it is entirely possible and likely that a large WU will take a day for a slow host to process, if a small WU took half-a-day.

Hi Eric, Yes it's possible

Hi Eric,

Yes it's possible and I'm sure there is nothing wrong with your computer. Like the others have said, Albert units vary greatly in size. If you care to look at my results, you'll note that just in the last few weeks my workunit completion times have varied anywhere from 6000 secs to 19,000 secs. My most recent ones have taken about 3 times as long as the others.

The great thing about the BOINC credit system is... you'll be compensated for your extra work. :)

I aborted a few of them because I thought that something was wrong with them. Thats all. I 'now' understand that, for my computer, it could take a few days to do the work. So, Im just going to let it do its thing...

However, I am going to go buy more ram so it doesnt take so long and so I can do SETI work also...

Sorry! new ram will not help

Sorry! new ram will not help with the speed, only new and improved computers and upgrading from ME to XP will help, IMHO....
