I don't seem to be receiving any new work from EAH. I see no threads..any thoughts? I do not believe I slipped and clicked the 'no new work' button and i'm sure i'm not overcommitted...?
NO..no..my mistake..it thinks i'm overcommitted despite the fact I have less WU in queue than any time in the last two months...

No new work?

Do you have a question? We'll need a lot more information from you if your question is 'why am I overcommitted'. Start with what projects you're running, what resource shares, what's currently in your cache with what deadlines, and what your cpu efficiency and "on time" etc. is from the hosts page.

Well, maybe I do have a question. EAH isn't sending me any work, i'm down to my last WU with only 14 SAH wu otherwise in cache with a soonest due date of 1/16. I normally carry my full 8 EAH wu and 2 or 3 times as many SAH. ALso running, as you can see from my sig file, LAH but they're out of work and have been for 2 or 3 weeks. SAH has been down for a day or so twiddling the database and I have a buncha WU queued to 'report' and 'upload'
I'm no longer getting an 'overcommitted msg when I restart the client.
Sorry, can't seem to find a 'hosts' page. running an older P4 prescott with a 512L2 @2.8 ghz with 1 gb of 400 ddr. been doing the new albert app wu's in about 5 hours 20 min or so.
I'm doing equal default 100 shares on everything.

Thank you Mr. Buck. So..the hosts page is actually the one titled 'computer summary' page. How stupid of me to be confused.

Here is the problem : While BOINC running, % of time work is allowed 0.0015 %

In the Boinc Manager click Commands then make sure you have it set to 'Run Always'.
Boinc Will give up CPU to any program that needs it. The way you have it set, every time you move your mouse it pauses Boinc.

oh dear. 'run always' was already selected. I have reselected it hopefully to toggle it. I haven't even opened the commands drop down..if this happened it was a glitch in the client.
Nope..i've just twiddled my mouse for a full minute and watched the current wu continue to crunch.
I believe the 'time work is allowed' number is bogus. I have been happily crunching all the SAH WU in my queue at normal rates of production for the last two days this has apparently been going on.
I guess I should make clear that i've been running smoothly for 3 months now and haven't changed any of my settings in that time except to move my'contact' time from 2 to 4 days a couple weeks ago. As best I can figure, this started happening just about the time I started crunching EAH with the Albert app.

For whatever reason, the

For whatever reason, the active_frac on that host has gotten "very low". It should recover on it's own over the course of the next "n" results, but meanwhile it'll be "overcommitted" a lot.

Easiest fix... shut down BOINC completely, make a backup, then open client_state.xml with Notepad, about 30 lines down is "active_frac" - it'll say 0.0015, simply change that to a 1, save, and relaunch BOINC. It'll drop a bit from the 1 over the next few hours, but if you truly are running 99% of the time, it should only drop to .99.

Thank you Mr. Michael. I'm gonna move this over to the bugs forum before I start hacking files. Could be something with Albert they want to look into.

Don't think there is a problem with Albert app. My % of time work is allowed number is still where it should be after doing lots of Albert.

While BOINC running, % of time work is allowed 99.7361 % for my system.

If it was the Albert app then mine would be low too. I think your best course of action would be to edit the number as Bill suggest and see what it does from there. If it is repeatable then there may be a problem.
