I couldn't decide if this should go in a raspberry/arm related thread or not. So it is here.

Good grief

Indeed. I had a cognitive dissonance and had to lie down for a bit.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Interesting news for AMD

Interesting news for AMD systems. I wonder if this translates to performance improvements in crunching tasks. https://www.pcworld.com/article/2438556/amd-ryzen-9000-cpus-huge-gaming-bump-windows-11-24h2.html

Probably more info will be released over the next days as more people will do their own tests. I'm very interested to see how this affects the Ryzen 5000 series, especially my CPU, the 5800x3D.

That is VERY intriguing.  A possible 10% bump in Boinc processing performance?  Hmmm.......

Here is a basic tutorial on tuning your Windows system. This may be redundant for you or it may be helpful.

I don't think it will speed up your BOINC crunching but it might improve your co-existence.

... very basic ...

If this is something new to fellow crunchers, then maybe he/she is in/on the wrong boat ...

no harm ment ...

Have a nice day with sunshine !

Has anyone tried something

Has anyone tried something like this before? With the list of compatible devices behind it it seems to me to be a problem if one of the somethings, mouse or keyboard in my case, breaks and you can't find a replacement. Right now I use a single keyboard and mouse but have to plug and unplug them into and out of every pc I need them one, yes I could just have 10 keyboards and mice but that could be a huge mess especially with all the wires. I'm not keen on using BoincTasks as I run alot of different Projects and use an app_config files to limit the number of tasks each Projects run. ie 3 from project a, 12 from project b  and 25 from project c etc. but a different pc may run just the opposite due to heat etc concerns.

There are also hardware

There are also hardware solutions. I own two KVM switches that let me connect my keyboard, mouse, audio system and monitor between 4 systems. I think they may go up to 12 systems.

I have run across keyboard/ mouse pads that will switch between 3 systems connected by Bluetooth.

Another solution that Keith Myers and Ian& SteveC use is remoting into systems using things like the  BOINC manager remote connection feature or remote desktop systems.
