Our home institution left Twitter (a.k.a. X) for good, and so did we. You may still follow us on Mastodon.

do you guys have a discord server as well? or does Mastodon fill that role?

tl;dr: Mastodon replaces Twitter
Well, we've been on Mastodon for quite a while, in parallel to Twitter. Now we just left the latter, leaving only the former for our micro-blogging purposes. Discord would be serving an entirely different purpose.

An excellent choice, Mastodon
An excellent choice, Mastodon is a great place to be, I find it to be the best social network out there right now. Discord is just chat, is not persistent, structurized nor searchable.
