I have noticed for quite some time that no matter how low I set the "Resource share" setting for Einstein@home, it seems to completely and overwhelmingly dominate all my tasks in BOINC. For instance, I currently have it set to 40 (6.25%) and have my other projects set much higher, 100 (15.63%) for 2 projects, and 400 (62.50%). But every single task I have is an Einstein@Home task, and its almost always like that.

Is there a setting I'm missing, or is Einstein@home for some reason ignoring the resource share setting? I'd like to keep participating, but I don't want virtually all my donated cycles going to just one project.

The best way to equalize

The best way to equalize resource share is with a very small working cache from all projects.  Use 0.1 days of cache and 0 days of additional cache.

Also you can help out the debt balancing between projects by changing the default setting of the REC half-life setting in the cc_config.xml file.

Change the default setting from ten days to one day and the credit balancing will happen much faster and you won't get stuck on processing only from one project.

And resource share only works with hosts that have been stably attached to projects for a long time.  Any time you add a new project to a host that has been running tasks from other projects for a long time causes the new project to monopolize the host for a while till the credit debt to the other projects is balanced.

Shortening the REC setting will allow that to happen faster.
