I hope this is the right sub-forum for this.

Please see the below screen-cap from my BOINC client.

I have no idea why so many tasks are switching to "Waiting to Run". E@H is running most of the time during the week; I only use my PC for an hour or two in the evening and it's running the rest of time.

Are the Binary Radio Pulsar searches a higher priority than the Gamma-ray pulsar?

TIA.

Probably. The BRP units

Probably.

The BRP units have their deadline on Dezember the 5th and the Gamma-Ray on December the 9th. Depending on how many unfinished workunits there are on your system the sceduler switches tasks to ensure they all finish in time.

Make sure you are only

Make sure you are only requesting 2 days of work as well.  Too many days work will do very bad things to your running WU's.

It's colloquially called

It's colloquially called "Panic" mode. BOINC client's scheduler at some point fears it won't be able to meet deadlines and prioritizes rigidly by deadline instead of the normal order of downloading. As Allen wrote: workunit cache too big... max 2 days, better just 1 day. Einstein servers are very reliable. You get new tasks at any time.

[EDIT to add:] The BOINC client monitors your computer's BOINC usage behavior and keeps statistics (percentage of active runtime per day). If the computer is only used irregularly or sporadically for BOINC, the client takes the previous smoothed statistics and predicts the likely necessary time (days) for the cached tasks. It then quickly switches to panic mode because it's not assuming 24/7 operation.

My settings are to store 1

My settings are to store 1 day of work, and an additional 1 day of work.

I'll change that to 0.5 for each and see if there's a change.

Thank you for the input!
