this seems to be a common theme for every new branch lol

Or go with another Linux

Or go with another Linux version, like Linux Mint, there's no unattended updates that I'm aware of.

If your computer listings are correct, you're running:

Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS [5.4.0-42-generic|libc 2.31 (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.31-0ubuntu9.9)] with your two AMD RX 570s on an Intel(R) Pentium(R) Gold G5600 CPU.

Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS [5.15.0-88-generic|libc 2.35] with no GPU on an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600K CPU.

My recommendations:

I would take out the AMD GPU's' in the Pentium computer and get two 4060Ti GPUs for the i5-9600K CPU computer.  Then update the kernel in that computer to at least 5.19 or later.

Once you've done that, I would also put a 'hold' on the NVIDIA updated drivers after you have gotten the driver 5.35.  (as Ian said)  Then I think that you should be good to go!

I don't think you need any NVIDIA driver later than the 5.35, and it should work well with kernel 5.19.

Good thought, maybe. I'll consider switching things up. How much do you think crunching performance would differ for a 4060Ti (or two) between the two CPUs, Pentium G5600 vs i5-9600K? (The currently-non-crunching RX 570s are in the i5 machine; a RX 5600xt is with the Pentium).

Ideas are not fixed, nor should they be; we live in model-dependent reality.

That will give me something to consider.  Thanks.

The reason I suggested to switch things up was because your i5-9600K is much better (i.e. faster in most cases) than your Pentium G5600.  Here is a comparison between your two CPUs:

This becomes more important with the switch to the CPU to finish the last ~ 10% of the tasks such as Einstein BRP7.

again, there is no "last 10%" on BRP7. that was FGRPB1G. BRP7 runs the same speed 0-100% and there is no CPU-based last 10% thing going on.

Sadly, this seems to be the trend for the past year.  Unleash the latest 'stable' release on the public for debugging.

I currently have a 3080.  I

I currently have a 3080.  I am starting to think about what my next upgrade will be sure to go for either a 4080/5080 if they are out sometime next year or should I change and go with a 7900 XT? (AMD)
I don't think it will make a difference but I am running Windows 11 pro

YOW if I had that 3080 it would be here running MeerKat 24/7
