most of my BRP7 MeerKAT

most of my BRP7 MeerKAT tasks finish with Validate error

WHY

An excellent question. Normally "invalid" means your results didn't agree with someone else's results. That means the task is sent out to a third system.

The work unit I looked at has another wingman assigned. So your invalid may change into valid. If I am understanding the error message right.

Two other things to check are is your GPU driver up to date? And are you OverClocking your GPU? Stop OverClocking and see if that helps.

Look here for the same

Look here for the same problem from long ago.

1007 ERROR WHAT DOES FULL SCREEN MODE MEAN?

Same two errors about full-screen mode and couldn't bind CUDA HSP texture.

Problem was corrupted  Windows CUDA drivers or registry.

Fix was rebooting the host.

I had this machine running

I had this machine running meerkat test BRP7-cuda102 for a while now, it runs very nice with little errors (less then 2%). Btw, I didn't use Petri's (testing that testapp right?). Maybe some time later. Netted around 170-180 units a day @3333 each with an 3060ti LHR.

Maybe GW is E@H most important signal to discover, one advantage of BRP7 over O3AS for me is outside of the computer. It has a very steady powerdraw on the wall and with that a very steady generation of heat keeping out moist in the room where this machine crunching. I can even put some FGRP5 CPU tasks on for a bit more heat.

I know this is more of a "Weather" thread question but you mentioned it is helping with the room humidity.  How warm/cold is it outside?

It is 8-10C outside, mostly

It is 8-10C outside, mostly rainy. The windows aren't the best isolated ones and are susceptible to condensation. Could turn normal heating on low, so why not get more out of the energy used and crunch some data using BOINC. Also, when it does get colder this single aging PC won't be enough.

Now I really want a passive cruncher like that one in the link in every room! (if I could... lol)

With machines like that you can use BOINC as a Lifestyle, BaaL!

Sticking it back to this thread, i do run 5 units concurrent on the 3060ti LHR 8GB without petris app.
It's better than 1 at a time and keeps the power usage more flatlined.
Can run some SSE/FGRP5 for some more watts from the CPU.

I am curious though.  How fast does the GPU process at one task? :)  You said "better than 1 at a time"?  Is it running that slow with one task?

Seems like you should be able to get more than about 679,932 RAC maximum (I just calculated that).  While the power would be a lot more peaky, you might actually get more heat off the GPU?  And a higher RAC :)

I think you have been

I think you have been watching units my machine crunched with around 2ks(/4), those aren't what its supposed to be. It should be around 2400s-2500s(/5)

I have been running FGRP5 CPU tasks while running 5 Meerkats and then sometimes it gets buggy. Seen it twice while at it. If I crunch Meerkat GPU and FGRP5 CPU together, then once in a while a GPU task gets stuck and runs for hours straight. My reaction when finding out later was to suspend that very GPU task and then resume it again. It would pick up from an earlier saved point. While that 1 out of 5 task was stuck for a while the others continued at the speed of 4 at a time while seemingly busy with 5.

I just ran a couple x10 again that you can look at, just under 480s average per unit. That would be around 180 units a day without the few invalids I can expect. So I make that 170ish, around 560k credits/day.

Meerkat and FGRP5 doesn't seem to mix for me, i did try hyperthreading on/off too while running 5 Meerkats:
5core - HT, 1 set 5 units ~35178s average
5core + HT, 1 set 10 units ~36804s average

With a 1-day buffer stored on this machine, BOINC drags in a lot of CPU units for like a week of work.

Now I'll let it run 10x Meerkat only for a short period.

crunched small batches x1 and

crunched small batches x1 and x10 with same settings

x1 ~480s/WU GPU utilization 0% when a WU is started to be fed to the GPU, 90-95% WU in GPU.
x10 ~475s/WU keeps GPU at util. 100% (as does x3)

CPU is not underclocked now @3 GHz(3.9 turbo), when uc @1.5 GHz(no turbo) there's gonna be some more time in feeding a WU to the GPU too.

Edit: Meerkats BRP7 that is
