Tom's Hardware and der8auer both did reviews of cheap backplate coolers and proved they are worthless.
Actually hurting the card by making temps worse.
Don't do it. Just improve your case airflow.
Darn. This is on the Mining Frame so the only thing I can do is blow on it harder.
When I decreased the Power Limit on that GPU down to 270 watts, the temperature went from 88C down to 81C. Yes the processing slowed down some %. But by calculation it should still be above 3M for that GPU.
So I am feeling a little less pressured to do something about it.
Maybe case fans blowing on the back plate will help. That experiment is cost free. So there is nothing lost if I try it and it doesn't help.

a 3090Ti can likely edge it out, but the price is going to be much more than the 5-10% increase in performance. probably closer to 50-90% more expensive.
For a while I have been wondering if the Y power cable that NVIDIA has been using on my rtx 3080 ti FE's would wear out.
I first replaced one and that gpu's reliability issues went away.
Then a second FE GPU started failing to start all the way up. Tried different flat ribbon cables, no luck. But when I replaced the Y cable with a brand new replacement. It came right up.

I used mine on the front of the gpu, blowing air into the fans not onto the backplate of the gpu and it did help while I owned the gpu

my 3070 and 3060ti temp woes were cured by a repaste and repad with quality paste/pads.

Monday's Complaint
I don't understand why a system with 3 rtx 3080 ti's RAC is rising so much faster than a system with 1 rtx 3080 ti's RAC.

Easy peasy on some gpu's and youtube is your friend, in some cases it's just as easy as doing it on a cpu and I'm guessing you've done a few of them?

Except to compete in a contest of top single GPU performer at e@h is there any other case for a rtx 3090 ti hybrid/liquid cooled?
rtx 3080 ti is still the sweet spot in bang for buck?
