I have my Home PC running BOINC with E@H.

Now, i tried to add my Work PC to my E@H acount, but i'm not able to do so.

I instaled BOINc 5.2.13 on my work PC and configured the HTTP Proxy (that exist in my work place).

When i input the project URL it all goes well, then i chose "Use existing acount", i input the email/pass Or Acount Key and after that i allways get a message saying that i failed to attach to the project.

I don't understand why.

Can someone help me?

Thank You.

Faild to attach to project.

We'll need to see the error messages... here's the easy way. Stop BOINC completely. (File/exit). Relaunch it. (This clears out the file of any old stuff.) Tell it to attach to Einstein, using the URL from the email (http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/ unless it's changed), and the password you set on the website. When you get the failed to attach message and it looks like it's through trying, copy all of the text from the Messages tab and paste it in here.

Someone will be right back with you! :-)

You are getting the infamous "error 500"... as you are on Windows, and I'm a Mac guy, I will have to let someone else walk you through the process, but the only known "fix" at the moment (we're waiting on a definitive answer from the BOINC developers, either a new version, or new server software, or a phone call to the ISP with the problem, or...) is to reduce your MTU temporarily from 1500 to 576.

This is _temporary_, just long enough to allow you to attach, as it will slow down your internet access. This bug only hits a handful of people, and we haven't been able to pin down what makes it hit some and not others; it seems the more routers and hubs and switches between your computer and your ISP, the more likely, but that's not even proven. A lot (well, dozens) of people on SETI have had this, but only four or five here on Einstein.

If you are unable to change the MTU on your work PC, you may have to wait for the fix before you can attach it.

Another thought are the required ports open, 443 ssl, required to pass Host ID etc. I assume others like port 80, normal HTTP, 1043 and/or 31416, one of these at least must be open as Manager is talking to BOINC.exe.

Also there is a dev version 5.2.14 that has been tried at Seti, Rom wrote as possible patch for some comms problems.

In my PC those ports are

In my PC those ports are open.

But i'm behind a HTTP Proxy and i've configured the BOINC to use the proxy.
