Both "red" and "blue" squads will use benchmarks that favor their own products for marketing purposes.
Really the best benchmark is actually a large suite of benchmarks across all application types.
The best one I know of is the Phoronix Test Suite which has so many tests that the differences in cpu architectures and compiler configurations is balanced out or neutralized for both AMD and Intel.
The next best ones would be:
Geekbench 5 (fairly large range of application types)
Passmark Performance Test (rather small range of tests)

I'm not looking anymore for prices on Ryzen 9 3950X, Ryzen 7 5700X, or Ryzen 9 5900X. They just don't fit the bill for me. But the Ryzen 9 5950X is another story. If the price gets to <$500 (new) I'll buy one to replace my 3950X. Otherwise, I'll probably move up to a Threadripper 5965X, or if I can afford it, a TR 5995X.
I agree, the AM4 socket is a stable one, for sure. But again, I like and will stay with ASUS motherboards. And I'll stay away from the cheaper boards.

I just looked, and today's price of a 5950X CPU is at $489.00 (w/$9 coupon) from Amazon. That's >$300 off MSRP.
Well I don't think that you would be disappointed with a 5950X. Mine has worked flawlessly and for me it can simultaneously do Factorio, Spotify, Boinc ( actively ), Discord ( live voice chat ) and general browsing without any noticeable lags or marked temperature rise ( using Pop!_OS ). I got it for ~ $800 AUD which was a bit less than $500 USD on the day ( mid 2022 ). I am now an AMD fanboy. ;-)
I'd expect a TR to do likewise so I guess it comes down to price and what you want it for.

My Intel i5-1235U is crunching 12 universe@home tasks.This in Windows11. It is the fastest CPU I have ever used, in Linux and Windows hosts. Its graphic capabilities are inferior to Nvidia boards.

I can't say for sure since I don't run Windows. but I have heard that the whole P-core/E-core architecture only works properly under Windows 11. the Windows 10 scheduler doesnt know what to do with it, so you pretty much have to just diable the E-cores on Windows 10.
While the change in the menuing and task manager layouts were disconcerting my boinc survived the upgrade with no problems.
I run boinc part-time on that system. I didn't notice any problems.
