High today, maybe 45F.

Headed for 22F

No perception.

computers must be running cool then!!

Yup. Even the furnace came on.

It's 42F at my house right now but the heat pump is set to a/c so no heat coming from it, my choice as the high today will be nearly 60 so no problems. The gas logs Technician is coming today to do the yearly maintenance on them as well as my gas water heater and gas cooktop. I have propane as my gas, no other option other than electric, and getting them checked yearly to ensure good operation is a must for me.

Forecast is... hurricane.

Forecast is... hurricane. Well, hopefully just tropical storm. We are going to be completely offline for a few days. Everything is shut down due to random power occurrences/losses that tend to happen.

See you all soon!

Please take care of yourself and your students. We would miss you more if you don't come back after nearly getting blown away.

Thanks! Luckily, we are all

Thanks! Luckily, we are all good here. Some of the costal areas are pretty badly impacted due to erosion (mixture of Ian and then this storm) but the wind/rain was not too crazy here. We should be slowly coming back online today.

We would like some of that cooler weather!

Cooler Weather?

Hmmmm......  Did I read someplace that 50F causes a fully habituated Floridian to get their Winter coat out?  Not a light jacket?

When we have a high of 50F in

When we have a high of 50F in South Florida (which might be like 3 days a year), we will go much further than just winter coats. Full winter boots are also required by many!!

We just don't make as much thyroxine since we are used to the warm environment so we struggle when the weather cools down.

Or, that's my biological excuse. haha

I live in southern North Carolina and I can tell you what you say makes sense as we get cold weather here around the end of December to early January and we too break out the long pants and more than sweatshirt thick coats during that time frame. No things don't close down and we do go out and do our normal things but we just wear clothes from the back of the closet instead of a t-shirt and shorts or cargo shorts.
