    I am prompted to log on to the LIGO site, but am unable to log on as I have forgotten the password.

    My Windows PC is still crunching - where is it saved, or do we have another URL for password reset please? My BOINC manager is 'disconnected' from client.

    My average is 26,000 per the Einstein@Home dashboard at https://einsteinathome.org/account/tasks/1/0

      This should be moved to Problems and Bug Reports section.

      Your website password is not the problem.

      You problem is the client password is not able to be accessed by the Manager.

      The password for the client is in the gui_rpc_auth.cfg file in the the BOINC directory.

      You have a problem with permissions to that file for your user.

        Thanks for your insight!
        However I can access the file and can see the 32 character string to which you refer. However my Boinc Manager doesn’t appear to recognise/access it, even after reinstalling Boinc. I am the administrator of my 64 bit windows 10 desktop.

        Might there be another config change that I can make?

          If you were a Linux user I would simply tell you to add yourself to the BOINC group.

          But alas, I know nothing about Windows.  I always thought that BOINC mostly works on Windows being the dominant OS in the marketplace and the first thing BOINC developers work put together.

          The password in that file does not have to be the automatically generated salted password that the installation creates.  It can be anything you want.  Mine is simply my system password.

          You can pass the password through to the client and Manager via the boinccmd utility provided in the installation.

            This is done automatically by the installer, no real idea why it didn't help here to simply reinstall BOINC, this should fix any permission issues.

            @OpenlySecular: When installing, did you choose only yourself or all users as BOINC admins? Try the other one.

              I don’t recall being offered option of allowing other users of PC rights on boinc. However, one other pc user has pc admin rights, so I will try using that account to to run the openlysecular Boinc account. I expect to update this discussion on progress/outcome.

                In Windows only the first person logged into the pc can use the gpu to crunch Boinc, it's a Windows thing so if you have multiple users on a single pc that becomes a problem
