HOPEFULLY they are STILL thinking about this and how to upgrade that section, and how it relates to everything else, to 64bit. Some version of Boinc though would need a 'compatibility thingy' to support things like all the 32bit things that use Boinc today, ie tablets, Chrome Books, lots of phones, R-Pi's etc that all crunch. At least the newer R-Pi's though can be run in 64bit compatibility mode with no problem which may even point to a way to fix the bug.

It never ceases to amaze me how little forward thinking programmers and designers have. We're constantly encountering limits of RAM, disk size, dates, it's beyond a joke. They could have planned further ahead than that.

However, the earlier O2MD search had both CPU and GPU tasks.
I missed the O2MD search due to other commitments.
However Gamma-ray pulsar binary search #1 on GPUs (FGRPB1G) for a short time was also CPU and GPU, mainly to test that the GPU results were valid, then CPU was halted.
It was that work unit type that I was referring to as I wanted to run more but ran out of time when the CPU was disabled.
Anyway I will process what is delivered as I can't change how things are.

As for ram and disk etc limitations why plan for things like that when you can just sell them a new one because their current model doesn't support that brand new 3PB drive?

I thought FGRP5 was still running on CPU? A seperate queue of gamma. Not sure why it's seperate but I've had it along with BRP4 and BRP4G on CPU recently (a couple of weeks ago I think).

Because when I buy a motherboard and it's advertised as taking much larger drives I'll buy that one instead because it's more future proof.
