I hope this isn't too stupid for words, but: How do you install the software?
I've donated to other distributed computing projects, most recently Folding@Home, and the link to download the client software was easy to find, even for a visually impaired person like myself. But I've been all over this site and there doesn't seem to be any info on installation in the FAQs and Forums.
It's entirely possible that I missed something. Much of this site isn't VI-compliant. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

My OS is Windows 7 64 bit. I also have a box running Win 10 but it's not as capable or usable as the older system.

Navigate to where you downloaded the executable for Windows 7 32 or 64 bit and double-click the file in the File Manager.
That will start the InstallShield installer automatically and the installation will proceed. You can accept the default location on the C: drive or you get a chance to change it during the installation process.

Unfortunately Einstein@Home can't be added to the list of projects. Each time I try I'm told that registration is done on a website. The URL is clipped but it begins "eins" so I'm assuming it's this website... on which I'm already registered.

You should be using the BOINC

You should be using the BOINC Manager to Join a project.
Use the BOINC Manager menu Tools >> Add project
which should open another window to Choose a project.
There is a picklist of projects and Einstein is in the list but it sounds like the formatting is off for some reason for you to properly display Einstein in the list.
You can also manually input any project in the input box in that window. The URL for Einstein is:

Log in as an existing account and just use the same login name and password that you use to access the website and forums here.
The website is just the support structure for the forums. It is not the actual project servers that deliver work to hosts. The joining process adds your host to the roster of hosts and also downloads the actual support files for Einstein, the applications and the work.
You need to also go to the website here and choose the type of work you want to process with your host.
That is via the Account >> Preferences >> Project menu. Select whether you want to use the cpu and any gpu and also choose one or more of the sub-projects in the middle of the page for the type of work you want to process.
You are choosing which applications and work that will be sent to your host.
