Please Help!

My second fastest computer has somehow lost its ability to access both the Internet and my internal network.  It has many completed units, and is also now sitting idle instead of processing around a 170,000 average per day.

Is there some tool or some other way that I can transfer my completed units and obtain new work via a flash drive or CD between my ailing W10 PC and one of my other W10 PCs until I can find some way to repair the problem?

Also, does anyone have any ideas about what happened and/or how to fix it?  My ailing machine suddenly and simultaneously lost the ability to connect with both my internal cable (not wifi) network and my cable connection to the Internet modem.  It can see the two separate gigabit cards, but nothing gets through.  I can provide any details you ask for.

I would really appreciate any advice you can provide.

In the meantime, my units are beginning to error out on time, so I would need like to get them back to Einstein as soon as possible, and also obtain new units, as I hate seeing it idle when it can be working for Einstein and other scientific research research projects.

Thanks!

you will need to resolve your internet issues.  there's no other way to get work to and from the project. if other computer's on your network are able to access the internet, then look at hardware or software issues with the system. try a simple USB-Ethernet dongle adapter, those work well in a pinch to identify if your existing adapter might have hardware issues or some issue with the driver with that device. p

Since you have 2 gigabit cards in that machine have you tried running a cable from one of the other pc's to it, you need to share the internet connection on the pc that works first though? You may need 2 cards in the first machine if you don't use wifi to connect to the network.

I don't have wired network here in the condo I'm in so I run a wire from a machine that uses wifi to a machine that doesn't have wifi in it and everything works great.

Another option would be to put a wifi card in the machine that won't connect until you figure this out.

Cherokee150 is talking about loosing his ethernet/cable connectivity ...

I guess he would like a solution/tips/hints etc. for that ...

Not all users want or enjoy using WiFi ...

A nice week for all of you !

I'd start by opening a

I'd start by opening a command prompt and posting the output of the following command;

ipconfig /all

That way we can see exactly what your network config is on the machine.

And then an ipconfig/reset should reset the internet connection, for the whole list of choices they can even look at ipconfig/? Windows also offers a built-in internet 'fixing' solution which often ends up just offering to reset the connection.

Did you get any updates for these LAN cards? My Windows 7 once downloaded new drivers and they shut down my LAN connection. Or even worse, did it update to Windows 11?

the OP must have resolved their internet issues as their systems show recent work and communication with the project.
