Hi Everyone
I´m relatively new to the Einstein project and I would like to know if there is any possibility instead of having 4 or 5 tasks simultaeously , would it be possible to program Charity Engine to have just 1 o 2 tasks at the same time?
I´d really appreciate some help about this.
Many thanks,
Regards

Don't know anything about the Charity Engine platform. Just know BOINC.
With BOINC it is simple matter to restrict the number of tasks crunched at a time on any project with a project_max_concurrent or max_concurrent statement in an app_config.xml file in the project directory.

Hi
many thanks
I´d used to have boinc but I don´t know why I had to format my pc and afterwards I wasn´t able to download the new version for Windows, so now I´m with charity engine.

Charity Engine is just another Boinc Account Manager, It's under Tools, Use Account Manager. Yes it sometimes has tasks the usual Projects don't have like the CE12 tasks but to me using it meant I had no control over my pc so I got rid of it.

No idea why you wasn't able to download the original client, it's available on this page:

Regarding your original question:
That depends on what you actually want:
a) to limit Einstein to 1 or 2 tasks and run other projects on the other cores? Than use the solution posted by Keith Myers.
b) limit BOINC/Charity Engine to just 1 or 2 cores because of heat/noise/whatever issues? Than set that in preferences under "Use at most xx% of the CPUs".
