I am working on a new stats competition web site that will pull stats all year long using the teams and user stats file. We will also have roughly 6, 3-day challenges throughout the year where a random project is selected. The site is still under development, but should be ready by the start of 2022.

In the process of getting the site to work, we've discovered that Einstein@home has a password protected directory on it's stats data export files. If Einstein@home is interested in participating in our year event we will need this password to pull the stats.

The year-long event will run the stats approximately once per day. This may be increased to twice per day (every 12 hours) once the site goes live however.

The 3-day challenges throughout the year use WebRPC to pull stats every hour. With the planned 6 events in a year and over 30 projects to randomly choose from there is a good chance that the project wont be selected every year for this. The hourly stats will update on the hour, every hour from the start to the finish so roughly 72 hour time frame.

each user has to opt-in to stats export because of European law. GDPR. Einstein can't just give you stats for all users.

Thank you for your

Thank you for your reply.

I  understand users have to opt in for stats export. Users have to register at the competition site in order to participate. So they know they'll have to allow stats export for them to compete.

The stats files are locked behind a username and password login. That's what I need access to.

Even when the user allows their stats to be exported I still can not gather the stats because the files are locked.

You will have to explain your

You will have to explain your intentions to one of the administrators of this project, and request that they 'whitelist' the IP address of the machine that you will be using to collect the files.

Best to send a PM to - I suggest - either Bernd Machenschalk or Oliver Behnke. Give them the IP address before they have to ask for it!
