If you are content with the first generation memory speeds, you can bump up to 16 cores with the 7351 cpu running around $600. Or to 24 cores with the 7401 around $600-800
If you want faster memory, then you need to jump to Rome cpus like the 16 core 7282 running around $1300-1400 and can run the memory at 3200.
What about a 7401 (slower cpu 2Ghz, faster memory3200 Mhz)?

The processing time on GW cpu tasks has dropped by nearly 50% (I think) on both my Ryzen 9 box and my Epyc box.
I am assuming it has to do with the differently named tasks/files I am getting. (h1_0992.65_O2C02Cl5ln0_....)

I've processed about a dozen of these (h1_0992.xx_O2C02Cl5ln0_....) and they seem to be running in about the same time.
I guess I had some shorties. Mine have also returned to "the usual" processing speed.

In the bios for the CPU it talks about "Determinism" (Auto, Performance, Power).
Is anyone setting this different from the Default of Auto?
I noticed that my "turbo" CPU speed is down a few hundred MHz from just short of 3 MHz to more like 2.6 MHz.
I am wondering if trying the "performance" is likely to actually move my CPU speed up significantly?
I am sure it will draw more power :)

With 1st generation of Epyc,

With 1st generation of Epyc, you are stuck with 2400/2666Mhz memory. Can't go any faster with the memory than that.
If you want faster memory you need to move to Rome or Milan. Look at this chart for your choices.

set determinism to

set determinism to power.
and set the cTDP to 170 (default is 155)

You should set Determinism to

You should set Determinism to Power or Performance. cTDP to 170 and PPL Level to 170
That will allow the cpu to maintain almost full boost clock across all loaded cores.
