Installed new version 5.2.2 - no noticeable bugs so far, and this time I kept the BOINC folder in place: I might have got another batch of WUs !!
Gray
Gray,
YIKES!!! let's hope not, you'll have to draft your vidcard into service to help crunch!
I read somewhere the past couple of days that 5.2.1 was misbehaving, the daemon failing to upload completed results automatically on most of the projects. Happily, Einstein was immune to that behavior, but all the rest (with the possible exception of one) were susceptible.
Let us know how the new one shakes out, and remember the address of the Boinc dev boards that Fuzzy has so thoughtfully provided.

Gray,
You can always abort some of the "extra" workunits if you think you have too many. Or if the extra ones will impact how you want to use your computer. The "Abort" button was added to the work tab to give the user that choice. And its better to abort them now so they'll be resent and crunched by other users rather than have them maybe expire in two weeks and then get resent.

Hello Walt
Thanks for that advice - I have just done so after reading your post: I now have a mere 14 left as opposed to 32. One thing would be nice would be to have the ability to remove the aborted WUs from the manager queue list once they are aborted - not exactly an issue, but it does seem pointless to keep them there. Right-click and remove would do the trick possibly ?
At least within a day or two Climate should start up now, so I can check to see if BOINC will swop happily between the two clents every hour as per request.

Gray,
Did you click 'Update" on the projects tab after aborting? That should have cleared them from manager. However, remember I warned against too many at one day? After updatine, I think that if you go to your account, View results, click on a result #, click on your host # in the list of four, You'll get your detailed host info, and it will show Maximum daily WU quota per CPU set to zero.
you won't be able to get more work until tomorrow, and that Max WU limit will increase only 1 per errorless day.

I don't mind about non-moderating of threads, so it looks like people solved things between themselves, but I do mind highly about people like Fuzzy HN who first will go for the fight, explain what we fight about and eventually just point the person being attacked, to something else completely else of what they mind that these people are posting about.
In the end the person will be re-programmed and only pressing + for the programmer's posts.
I think it's called Mind-Fucating.
I know it is bad.
I have been the victim of it.
You get the feeling you did something bad, where you didn't do anything bad, yet the people will tell you it was bad what you did here, there and in some text from the ancient Homer. It leaves you feeling why these good people aren't moderators if they know so well.
It's because they don't have the right to be, they should be banned and they should be living on their own little piece of world, not the internet!
I am taking Fuzzy HN as a good example here since she is a good example. She refuses to answer things, she thinks she is better than everyone else around here, she feels she can do a better job on these forums than Gary. All around, she is better than the Admins, you who post here, you who just are.
Other good examples of this are: The Anon family, Misfit, Some mishapped Vulcan name, those who stupidly follow these before mentioned and post in their defense!
If you see any of these people trying to bring mishap to your forums, don't think, just press the red X button at the bottom. Tell that you have been attacked by one of the people who should be banned from forums forever!
Tell you have been attacked for no reason other than that it was a figment of the other party's imagination!
I have quit answering for all of the Boinc projects because of the group above. There's no fun in answering to forums anymore with these people around. And don't expect you can go against them. For they know better than everyone above and beyond. And they will always know of a way to make you look bad. As they will in the posts beyond to make me look bad. :)

Hello - yep I did try the update button and that was successful apparently according to the messages section, but the aborted items stay in the queue (not running: they are listed as aborted) - this happened to me in 4.45 too, when I was running seti@home. There is a button under projects where I can allow and disallow new work - I have hit that for now until the queue is diminished.
The WUs, aborted and processed, will be reported and cleared from manager in chronological order, earliest deadline first, so if you aborted the newer WUs, they will have to wait until older ones are processed - that's why I suggested dumping the older ones.
Respects,
Michael

They weren't reported if they stayed in the queue. Might take some time until BOINC recognizes they were aborted, check again when the current Einstein@Home workunit completes and is uploaded and reported. If they're still in the queue afer that then its a problem.

Great ! Just for the record, I have aborted all WUs deadlined 30/10 apart from the one I am working on at present (well it's 60%, so seems a pity to abort at this point). From what you say, as all other functional WUs are deadlined 31/10, the aborted ones should be removed in the next couple of hours, Climate@home should have a chance and the pressure is off - I have 2 days off from work (Wed/Thurs) so can enjoy them !! I'll let you know if all goes as per spec around 8 hours hence.
