one last error I have picked up is shown when downloading: the work units are said to be 100% downloaded, until the downloads start, at which point the real situation is indicated - they should be at 0% until download starts - not a critical error, and certainly not one that will stop me using it, but I am suprised the devs didn't see it.
At the risk of starting another diversion (again, unintentionally), I must express my heartfelt affection towards you! You see, our long-haired, white of 18+ years (who's much prettier than the "Fancy Feast" cat) is named Fuzzball.
Stick
Don't worry, it happens all the time! That someone goes out of topic I mean, also here on the Einstein fora! I'm not the most guilty of this!
But thanks! My old cats became 13 years and 15 years old, and my Bouncer Jupiter is only 3 years old. So a 18+ years old cat is really special! I hope you'll still have some good years with your Fuzzball! My girlfriend had two Persians, which became 21 and 23 years old, so some of the long-haired cats can be very old! Of course it's genetic, but one can allways hope!
But thanks again! And now, back on topic (as long as Michael can stay there! ;-) )!
Dear Fuzz (may I call you Fuzz?) - I couldn't help notice that you followed the example of the pseudonymously duplicitous Mr. and Mrs. anon, with regard to quitting a very worthwhile scientific endeavour, in 'disgust', and that you're still posting in the forum, and so I was wondering: If some extra-terrestrial intelligence contacted you, would you treat it with the same disdain as you have done with basic terrestrial intelligence?
Apparently by your opinion when someone stops crunching for a project that they are supposed to stop posting as well? Hmmmm So if that's the case then I need to stop posting at Orbit and a few other projects as well. I guess that you have never read any of her previous posts or threads. It looks like you are biased in your opinion of her recent posts. Perhaps you should go back and read some of them before you form another opinion about Fuzzy or Ms Anon. Fuzzy's contribution to this particular worthwhile scientific endeavour either in the form of crunching or her threads/posts have been done without disdain. If her previous threads/posts were done in disdain then I'm certain the forum moderators would have removed them promptly.

Haven't formed an opinion, yet. There's a distinction between not crunching and 'quitting in disgust'. I've read their previous posts to this forum, except for the ones that were deleted by moderators, which was Fuzzy's reason for quitting in disgust. They still have a chance to reconsider crunching here, and then cement my opinion that they're at least rational and intelligent, but I know that's asking quite a bit... It's the quitting in disgust, and then lingering to advertise it, that speaks for itself; no opinion necessary.

No, I'm Ms. Hollynoodles to you!
So LHC@Home and Rosetta@Home are not "very worthwhile scientific endeavor"'s in your apparently not so humble oppinion?
I have just as much right to post here as anybody else, and for your information, I have reported your post as offensive.
How about choosing a more appropriate venue for the paintball wars? You can step outside and lace up the gloves (or take them off, whichever the cliche may be) and fight it out like grownup children.

That option to "start crunching again" is going to be based on how they feel that they were treated by posts made here by other members and moderators. Perhaps they will come back and crunch for Einstein.
I had a post moderated, which I feel that it was done unfairly as it had nothing in it that I wouldn't show my mother, but I didn't make any comments on the board about it. I wasn't sent an email to notify me that my post had been moderated. It was deleted and everybody crunched on. Nobody notices that post. I would like to think that we can all agree to disagree and move on. Removing posts concerning a question or problem that someone had does not solve anything. It hides a problem.
Look at it this way, you work all day/all week and it's time for you to get paid - your company deletes your personal info for whatever reason, what do you do when it's time that everyone is handed a check but you? Do you say something about it or just say "Ok"?
Fuzzy's comments concerning not crunching were justified as well as Ms Anon's were. Fuzzy was previously a member of the Mensa team, so I'm not going to question her intelligence or rationality on any level. I suggest you do the same.
Their opinion concerning "to crunch or to not crunch" should be respected. If they have other threads that are providing something worthwhile to the project then I see no problem with them posting anywhere.
I respect everyone's opinion, even though it may differ than mine. If we all thought the same, all the time... I digress, but hopefully you get my point.
Stop poking at a open wound that someone else has. If you had a genuine concern then express that. If you have a problem with Fuzzy, Ms Anon, or anyone else expressing their opinion on something please think before you post.
Oh, I don't need words in placed in bold to read, I can see quite well :-)
You're right, Kajunfisher. I sometimes wish the moderators would delete some of the stupid posts I've made, but they leave them there and I look like an idiot in front of everyone (italics okay with you?) Happy crunching!

Now that's about the best ending to an off-topic excursion that there has been here. My thanks to you both for dousing the fire.
