Hmm I seem to be losing

Hmm I seem to be losing messages but one more time ...

I have changed my set up to run CPU as well as GPU tasks. I have set 'do CPU tasks' to YES and selected 2 CPU projects but I am not getting any CPU work.  Have I missed a setting or is there something wrong with my general set up?

You sent me most of this same text as two sequential private messages, four minutes apart.  Perhaps you clicked a different link than you intended.

I replied--check your messages.

I found at least 3 hosts with cpu work.  Which host(s) are you believing isn't getting any cpu work?

Thank you Archae86 for the

Thank you Archae86 for the tips :)

The tasks I was talking about are BRP6 (name "PM0102....") and BRP4G (name "p2030...."). I haven't seen such tasks for over 1 year. And in settings BRP is ticked, in fact all are.

It's been more than a year

It's been more than a year since you've seen those BRP6 kind of tasks  More like 4 or 5 years.  They haven't been distributed for at least that long.  That project have been long dead. Take a look at the server status page and you will see no mention of them in the statistics. No servers splitting them out, scheduling them or validating them.

Server status page

The only BRP tasks currently being distributed regularly are the straight BRP4 cpu tasks.  I haven't seen a gpu BRP4G task in ages.  Though the server status page shows the work generator running for them.

Wasn't those reserved for Intel GPUs and Android devices?

Well back in the olden days,

Well back in the olden days, there were BRP6 tasks for regular gpus.

But, yes, the only gpu applications I see distributed currently for BRP4 project are for Intel igpus.

Applications

Well, that's it then, old

Well, that's it then, old tasks.

One more question please, I hope someone can help: if you select only CPU tasks, from the project prefs, how does that work? It affects only the machine you make the selection from? Or does it affect all machines on that account? In other words, for example, if your account has 20 comps and you want to have CPU-only tasks on 5 machines, how do you do that?

If it's very complicated, is it better to create another account and to put there only those comps, in order not to mix things up too much?

Thank you!

Go to your Einstein Account - Preferences - Project

There you make the settings and for different hosts you have Preference Set where you can choose them to run on Home, School , or Work  groups for your different hosts

Yes set up different venues

Yes set up different venues or locations with different project preferences and assign each individual computer to the specific location that has the project preferences you want to run for that computer.

Easy solution.
