To be honest, that's pretty unlikely at the moment. Currently we neither have the manpower to adapt our GPU codebase to the mobile world, nor do we have proper test devices we'd need for development and testing. Granted mobile GPUs are getting more and more interesting and the Mali GPUs should, in principle, have enough ooomph to run our apps, at least from a memory standpoint. We'll keep an eye on things.
The past week and a half I've been trying to reconnect one of my devices with the project. I was in the mean time also house moving, so couldn't give it my complete attention, until tonight. A couple of weeks ago I changed my username from Ageless to Jord on most projects, including this one. For adding projects to Android's BOINC client, one needs to give up an email address, the username and the password.
Now when giving up my email address, username Jord and the password, the client would always think a bit then say "Connection failed". No explanation, nothing in the event log, just connection failed. This is with 7.4.53 as the 7.16s crash on my devices.
So tonight I had an epiphany and I used Ageless as username. I could immediately add the project, no problemo.
Explain to me why I am posting with username Jord, why the client shows me as username Jord, but I have to add the project with the old username Ageless? Idiosyncrasy of Einstein@Home, just as these slow forums?

That's because "Jord" is your customizable (ambiguous) public community name, not your (unique) internal account name. In your words: explain to me why the Android client needs the extra user name, not just the (unique) email address for authentication, unlike the desktop BOINC client?

I don't know, do I look like the Android developer to you? ;)
Some form of extra security?
But it won't add the project without the username and when the username is the wrong one it won't add it either. And then not with a message saying something is wrong, but with one saying it just can't connect.
Is it possible that I change the internal account name without making the account again? Because at one point in time I may forget this. Or is it unique as in the account key being unique?
All I see in my profile are BOINC user ID, Drupal user ID, Account key, Weak account key and CPID.
Well, your case is a special one indeed. You have two accounts: an old one now named "Jord" and a new one (signed up on 18 June 2018) still named "Ageless". Can you tell me more about the second?
No, but if that's mine it's also not used as far as I can tell.
The device in question is https://einsteinathome.org/host/12834693. I've emailed you a photo of my account names used on the device for all the projects it's attached to. All are Jord, none are Ageless. Yet I had to use the latter to be able to add this project on that device. And only on that device!
Edit: it could well be a bug in that old client. And I don't mind throwing that one onto Github, especially as they're redoing the Android client from the ground up. But let's try to make sure it isn't a project quirk first.
Einstein@home is the only project I can't connect to on Android. It just started past few minutes because of https://einsteinathome.org/content/android-support-hiatus-official-boinc-app-only without notice. Now I know. I hope I get a warning about it soon and will have to avoid Android for now. Will do another project in the meantime while I wait.

I think you can just put the project on hold in the app, no need to fully detach.
