I am running both

I am running both Einstein@home binary radio pulsar search and SETI@home tasks on my Ulefone smartphone with Android 7.1.1. I completed a SETI@home task 8.01 in about 11 hours. The Einstein tasks seem to go faster but I still have to complete one. The CPU is an ARM64.

Tullio

SETI sees a OpenCL Mali G71 coprocessor (a GPU?). Einstein sees none.

A SETI developer writes that

A SETI developer writes that SETI BOINC server must be newer than Einstein BOINC server since it sees the OpenCL GPU on my Android smartphone, while Einstein does not see it.

Why I am getting so few

Why I am getting so few credits on my Android phone (about 60)? On my Linux boxes and Windows 10 PC I am getting 3450 for GPU tasks and 1000 for CPU tasks.

It's because you are

It's because you are crunching tasks on your phone that are one sixteenth the 'size' (ie. work content) of the BRP4 tasks that used to be crunched on discrete GPUs.  At that earlier time, tasks were being awarded 1000 credits.  The credit award for these current (tiny) tasks for mobile devices is therefore 1000/16 = 62.5 credits I believe.

Cheers,
Gary.

The SETI BOINC server sees a

The SETI BOINC server sees a MaliG71 GPU on my Ulefone. The Raistmer developer says that when this GPU will be used on Linux then it will be possible to use it also on Android.

Greets All,I have a new

Greets All,

I have a new mobile phone, LG V30 model number VS996 running Android 8.0.0 and Boinc V 7.4.53
It's Einstein computer name is COMPUTER 12642390
The V30's Specs

CPU: Octa-core (4x2.45 GHz Kryo & 4x1.9 GHz Kryo)

GPU: Adreno 540 @ 710 MHz

Problem: Boinc does not recognize the phone has a GPU. Also even bigger problem it will not download any Einstein@Home task.  I read the log files and also attempted to work with my different preference settings on Einsteinathome.org but still not luck getting anything to download.

Can anyone help?

Regards,

This is a Boinc problem and not a Einstein@home problem. E@H only tries to match work to the capabilities that Boinc reports.

The only work available on Einstein@home for Android devices is for "Binary Radio Pulsar Search (Arecibo)" or BRP4 for short.
But when checking the server contact log found here it reported: (To navigate to the log go to your list of computers/devices and click on the entry in the "Last contact" column.)

Reading the log one can conclude that none of the constraints set for the different apps was met by your device.
If that's because the CPU doesn't support the features or Boinc can't detect them because of the relative new Android 8 I don't know.
The plan class for 'ASIMDPIE' might work if it's updated to recognize Android 8 and the app actually works under Android 8.

Have you tested to enable beta apps in your project preferences? This can sometimes allow work on devices with differing specs to test if an app will work on it.
You could try this by setting "Run test applications?" to Yes.

Hi Dudes :) I am crunchich

Hi Dudes :)

I am crunchich on Samsung S7, but none uf units finish in time. It seams a bit weird for me. It looks like, calculation is quit after 1 day of calculation. Is there any settings to help finish crunching in time?  https://einsteinathome.org/sk/host/12646838/tasks/0/0
