And that's exactly what's wrong with how you are approaching this.  The whole design and construction of the LIGO observatories, the time and effort of multitudes of scientists and grad students, the hundreds of millions of dollars poured in over many years, make it a very serious exercise.  There are scientific reputations and career prospects of lots of researchers riding on accurate scientific analysis of data that has cost a lot to produce.  Do you think they will be happy to just let some unknown person play around with it for a "hobby and fun"?

I'm sure it would be great to have you make some breakthroughs in writing more efficient code.  I'm merely suggesting there's a much better and more professional protocol to adopt if you want the LIGO collaboration to take your 'hobby and fun' seriously and actually entrust their code into your hands.  At the very least, you have to sell yourself as competent and professional.  Otherwise why would they even bother?

I'm just a volunteer like everyone else on these boards.  Apart from attempting to answer questions and help people, I have no authority to speak on behalf of AEI-MPG.  And I certainly don't.  I'm just giving you my opinions.  I really don't care (in fact it gave me a good laugh) if you regard it as "a lot of ****".  The fact that you had to re-read it to find something useful shows just how careful and thorough you apparently are.

Cheers,
Gary.

seems pretty clear that

seems pretty clear that they're both GPL. it doesn't require inside info to know if it is or not, it's posted publicly on the license page.

I'm sure that is how I got

I'm sure that is how I got the BRP app for the Nano compiled by Gaurav Khanna. He just downloaded the BRP source code and changed the target.

for the Maxwell GPU in the Nano.

Works very well. So the speedup of running the code on the gpu instead of the original target of the cpu is very large.

Unless I'm mistaken, which I

Unless I'm mistaken, which I could be, I think you can download the source code from here, I think lalpulsar-1.18.2.tar.xz might give you our GW code. Plus there is a pretty epic looking git repo ........ over a half GB .... which you could probably clone from that. Also there was a similiar query to yours a couple of years ago. Best of luck! Let me know if you can/not get what you're after.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

*** news *** news *** news

*** news *** news *** news ***

Some parts of the code are not under GPL at this moment. So no public source code is available.

But there is something bubbling under and if the stars are at right position relative to the calendar and various things we might be able to see some progress during the summer and forthcoming months and years.

Ich habe ein Gefühl dass etwas zu kommen isst. (My own translation, I have read three years of Deutsch some thirtyfive years ago. Es isst möglich dass Ich einige wirklich gewichtige Sachen vergessen habe.)

Really??

It's a serious business so make a serious attempt to showcase what you are able to bring to the table.  You should send those details and any supporting documentation to the general email address and marked to the attention of Bruce Allen.  You should expect to go through a fairly exhaustive vetting procedure, including the signing of NDAs, before being given access to the code. "

???? Is it commercial enterprise or sientific research after all?? Veeery strange claim....
