I'm seen a rumor that the driver problem that kept some SETI@Home apps from working well with some recent Nvidia drivers (including the new 445 driver but not the 442 series) also affects Einstein@Home.  Is this correct?

If so you may need to take over persuading Nvidia to fix the problem (again) since SETI@Home is about to shut down, at least until they write a scientific paper and then can get some new type of astronomical data to work with.

There was a problem with

There was a problem with Nvidia drivers for a while for any release past 436 series at Seti on the Windows 10 platform.

A bug report was logged with Nvidia and they finally released a fixed version in the 442.19 drivers.  All was well.

But the most recent 445 drivers have let the bug slip back in.

There were reports here at Einstein during that same period that indicated there was an issue also with those drivers on Windows 10.

For SETI@Home:

Platform not mentioned.

Windows 10; unclear if any earlier versions of Windows were affected, but some weren't.

Maxwell generation cards gave crashes.

Pascal generation cards, and those from the most recent of the Turing generations appeared to give endless loops until the time limit stopped them.

For VHAR workunits using the SOG version of the application only.

For Einstein@Home:

Seen on the SETI@Home site.  During the period of the problem, I don't remember anyone mention any BOINC project at all.

Were there? I know the AMD drivers caused issues with RX 5700 cards, but I don't remember seeing people have issues with the Windows Nvidia drivers.
