S@H will end to send new work by the end of the month. That all knows.
A lot of us crunched E@H for long time in the past, some still crunching now.
My question is: can we switch our hungry hosts to here without affecting the project or is better to do that slowly?
We not wish to cause any harm to the old/new house.

That could be a huge amount of new hosts, more than 60% of the actual hosts count, that is what i was asking about.

I just looked at active hosts for SETI and it was closer to 165K.
E@H has 14K active hosts from the stats at BoincStats.
From the comments I have been reading about the demise of S@H, I would bet a good portion of people just uninstall BOINC and move on. Their passion was for S@H and they have no interest in any other project.

AFAIK there will always be room for new uptake of users, should they bless us with the usage of their hardware. If that causes some straining at the seams then so be it, we will adapt. I'd read that SETI@H was 'hibernating', catching up with post processing and publishing of results and the like. Any and all are welcome to provide processor cycles in the pursuit of science here meantime. There will always be data to crunch, and questions to be put to the data sets ! :-)

Just heard about SETI@Home shutting down. I have been crunching both Einstein and SETI@Home for many years. I have got them to play nice together sharing resources on CPU and nvidia GPU work units. I was considering joining up with MilkyWay@Home. Will someone let me know if Einstein and MilkyWay programs will share resources nicely?
